Amant Jane March
Thursday, May 1st, 2008There are few who could look on English big screen actress Jane March and not consider her beautiful. Her statuesque face and physique simply cry out “beauty”.
And that may be one of the reasons she was chosen to play in the French film Amant, known in English as The Lover. The move describes the sizzling sexual relationship between March’s unnamed character, a 15-year-old-girl who’s on her own, and the 32-year-old son of a businessman, played by Tony Leung. In order to gain monetary means March becomes Leung’s lover, hence the title Amant. Jane March herself had five body doubles to cover the sexual scenes that ensued as a result of this relationship, and Leung two.
One of the sex scenes was even alleged to be real, and though this was false the film’s producers moved slowly to disabuse people of the notion for the sake of building the film’s notoriety.
